He's going to be an AWFUL NCO if the ribbons are all he cares for rather than his Joe's. I think ribbons shouldn't be a thing unless you actually EARNED one! OP is just a title chaser. Hell, I have 3 racks and I've been in for 4 years - all my ribbons are nothing special. He has nothing like a MoH, a Bronze Star, Silver Star, PH, Valor, etc. But the basis of his ribbons are as easy as what I just mentioned. He has more obviously since that's only 2 racks. This guy had an AAM (you get for ETSing or PCSing or participation in something you might not have done), an ARCOM (same thing as AAM, but for E-5 and above), a good conduct (3 years with no article 15), NCO ribbon (you get this once you become an NCO), Global War on Terror (if you join after 9/11 but before October 1st, 2018, you get this), National War on Terror (you get this for joining during a time of "war"), and a ribbon for completing basic. If I saw someone whom tried to do what you're doing OP (and I have) - come up to me with 6 racks, and try to flex it, of course I'll take a look. Not to mention, if he wants to go for the easy ribbons, any other airman he meets will just laugh at him. This guy is ridiculous, and needs to get out of the military if all he cares about is a rack.

And if you're deployed, who cares about a title? Make sure you and your fellow airman can go home to see their families at the end of it all - not in a casket. Ribbons should be the least of your concerns - it should be your battle buddy - sorry, the airman to your left and to your right that you should be concerned with. Just do your job, do as you're told, and ribbons will come. I'm Army though, so we don't earn ribbons as easily as you guys, but still.
